2027 BTAA – Mentorship Program

Do you want to influence the next generation of leaders, expand your professional network, and gain fresh perspectives on your own career? Or are you seeking the chance to accelerate your career, gain personalized guidance on your toughest challenges, and build confidence in a new skillset? Participating in the BTAA Women+ in Technology (WIT+) Mentorship Program gives you the opportunity to do either, or both! Applications for both mentors and mentees for the 2027 cohort are open.

Program details:

  • Runs January–June 2027
  • Open to all Big Ten staff and faculty (make sure to register with your .edu email!)
  • One-hour commitment (per role**) to monthly mentoring sessions
  • Different resources and topics shared each month via our monthly newsletter
  • Scheduled monthly check-in sessions and a Teams networking group

**Interested in being both a mentor and a mentee? You’re welcome to participate in both roles, just make sure you can commit 1 hour per month for each.

For Mentors

What to expect:

No prior mentorship experience is required, just the willingness to devote time to sharing your knowledge and expertise. You also won’t be on your own—we’ll provide best practices, resources, monthly group check-in’s, and a support structure to help you succeed.

Throughout the program, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Make a meaningful impact on an aspiring professional’s career journey
  • Strengthen and expand your coaching and leadership skills
  • Attend monthly check-in sessions and build meaningful connections with other mentors across the Big Ten community

What to expect:

Whether you’re just starting out in your field, or are a seasoned professional looking to take the next step in your career, this program is designed to help you grow! No prior experience is required, just curiosity, commitment, and desire to learn.

Throughout the program, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Explore career development strategies and leadership skills
  • Attend monthly check-in sessions and build meaningful connections with other mentees across the Big Ten community
